A LUCKY Lotto player is $2 million richer, but doesn’t know it yet.
A winning ticket in Saturday’s NSW Lottery $20 million Superdraw was sold to an unregistered player at Lennox Head Newsagent and Liquor Store.
The population of Lennox Head is 7000. However the ticket could have been sold to someone visiting the popular tourist destination.
Shop assistant Sandy Gordon said if the ticket was sold on Saturday it could have been purchased by a tourist because there were lots of visitors in town over the weekend.
“We were run off our feet all day,” Ms Gordon said.
However, Ms Gordon said she was hoping the winner was one of their regular customers.
“Somebody out there has the golden ticket. Just like in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, all we have to do is find them,” she said.
“We’re all so excited. We will be on tenterhooks all day. Every ticket we check could be the one.”
NSW Lotteries is urging players in the area to check their tickets.
“Unfortunately our latest millionaire is not a member of Players Club which means we have no way of contacting them,” NSW Lotteries communications manager John Vineburg said.
“So if you purchased a Saturday Lotto ticket in the Lennox Head area, it could be well worth your while to check your numbers.”
Along with the NSW winner, six winners came from Victoria, two from Western Australia, and one from Queensland.
The winning numbers from Saturday night’s $20 million Lotto draw were 35, 15, 18, 6, 13 and 4 with the supplementary numbers 16 and 8.
