Under-19 title on line

LISMORE and Casino will take the field at Oakes Oval, Lismore, tomorrow for the Far North Coast Under-19 interdistrict cricket final.

There is plenty of young talent in the two teams, with a number of players from LJ Hooker League clubs.

Most of the Lismore line-up plays at the top level of local club cricket.

They include Jeremy Cowin, Brendan Santin and Cameron Black (Workers); Ben Cooper, Dain Moreton, Jared Seiffert and Nick De Giusti (Marist Brothers); and Ryan Howard and Jake Nind (Souths).

For Casino, Trent Bennett and Brendan McGuire play for the Cavaliers, while most of their teammates turn out on Saturdays for A-grade teams in the Casino club competition.

Like all local cricket this weekend, much will depend on the weather, with turf wickets in all associations sure to have been affected by heavy rain on Thursday night.

The day/night final tomorrow is scheduled to start at 2.30pm.
