KYOGLE and district community members will be able to tell the State Government what they thought of the World Rally Championships being held in their backyard at a meeting to be held in Kyogle on Tuesday, February 2.
The community meeting will be held at the Kyogle Memorial Institute at 6pm.
It is part of a review of the event promised by the Government after it passed special legislation allowing the rally to go ahead without local government planning approval.
A community meeting will be also held at the Tweed Shire Council auditorium in Murwillumbah on Wednesday, February 3, starting at 7pm.
The review, auspiced by the Homebush Motor Racing Authority, will be undertaken by independent consultant Mike Cahill, and will focus on the impact of the rally on the Kyogle and Tweed districts.
Homebush Motor Racing Authority chief executive Bryan Hardman said the intense interest the review had generated prompted him to hold one-on-one talks with local people before the community meetings.
Anyone interested in arranging a one-on-one meeting should contact Mr Hardman by email at bryan.hardman@hmra.nsw.gov.- au, or Mike Cahill at mabc@imcanz.com.au
Meanwhile, Mr Hardman is also urging all interested individuals and groups to lodge written submissions to the review.
Submissions can be emailed to mabc@imcanz.com.au; or sent to Mr Cahill, managing-director of Integrated Marketing Communications, at PO Box 159, St Leonards, NSW, 1590.
