CLUNES small business operator Kevin Hogan has become the first publicly-known Nationals preselection candidate in Page.
The Nationals called for preselections late last month.
Local members keen to challenge Labor's Janelle Saffin for the job of Member for Page have until the end of the month to put their hands up, with party members to elect their candidate on November 28.
While there has been some speculation about potential candidates, Mr Hogan is the first local Nat to publicly nominate.
Mr Hogan, who runs his own finance business from his Clunes cattle farm, said his key issue was the economy.
He said he was worried about the level of debt being run up by the Federal Government through its stimulus packages.
