FORMER local rugby league whistle-blowers kicked up their heels at a reunion at the Lismore Workers Sports Club.

About 32 referees swapped old 'war stories' and talked about the current state of the game.

Among them was Brian Grant, of Bangalow, who refereed at the NSW Country Championships and in the NRL.

The reunion on Saturday night stemmed from one that was held 10 years ago, which was so successful they wanted to do it again.
