JANE LYNCH has been living with her elderly mother since the caravan she owned was damaged and her belongings ruined in the flood that swept through the Lismore Tourist Caravan Park two weeks ago.
Yesterday, she returned to the caravan park for the visit of a Gold Coast Buddhist charity to receive gifts of practical help, including blankets, a mattress, an electric jug and a toaster.
Ms Lynch was overwhelmed by the warm greeting she was given by members of the Tzu Chi Buddhist Foundation.
“They are just so lovely and all they really want to do is help. It's hard to believe,” she said with a small smile.
Ms Lynch is waiting for DoCS to assess her caravan, but hopes to return to the caravan park.
A student at Southern Cross University, Ms Lynch also lost her computer and study notes.
“But I want to come back to live in the park, it's a good community,” she said.
