"Mr October", Clunes local Chris Hughes, gets his gear off for a good cause in the calendar.
GETTING naked for cancer research began as an idea chatted about across dinner tables in Clunes.
But it has ended with a group of men and women from the peaceful village losing layers in front of a camera and the images are now part of a 2009 charity calendar.
The calendar was launched at the Clunes Store and Cellars last week and has already almost sold out.
At a cost of $10, the calendar features men and women of the village, with women on one side and men on the other.
All money from the sale of the calendars will be donated to cancer research.
A spokesman said the novel fundraiser idea for the calendar grew during regular dinner gatherings.
“The lives of a number of local women and their families have been touched by cancer and it was agreed that proceeds from sales should go towards better diagnosis, treatment and cure of this disease,” he said.
