Child porn guilty plea

By SAMANTHA TURNBULL

A GOONELLABAH man has pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography after a raid on his former Sydney home allegedly uncovered 14 floppy disks containing sexual images of minors.

Allan Thomas Folkard, 52, appeared in the Lismore Local Court yesterday charged with two counts of possession of child pornography, possessing an unregistered firearm and not keeping a firearm safely.

He did not enter a plea to one of the child pornography charges which arose after a police search of his Goonellabah home last October.

The Goonellabah raid allegedly uncovered numerous CDs, floppy disks and video tapes containing child pornography, as well as an unregistered semi-automatic rifle.

Folkard has pleaded guilty to possession of the gun which police said was being stored in a cardboard box inside a walk-in wardrobe.

He also pleaded guilty to a child pornography charge which followed a raid on his former Dee Why home last October.

Police said Folkard was staying with relatives in Goonellabah at the time of the second pornography charge, and had been planning to move to Casino.

Magistrate Nick Reimer adjourned the case so the seized material could be classified.

Folkard's bail was continued and he will reappear in the Lis- more Local Court on February 21.
