One dead, one trapped after Bruxner Highway crash

UPDATED, 4pm: A MAN has died and a seriously injured woman remains trapped following a crash on the Bruxner Highway about 15 minutes west of Casino. 

The multiple vehicle crash happened just before 3pm.

Two adult occupants of a second vehicle are suffering minor injuries, while a three-year-old girl is being treated for head injuries originally described as minor.

 

ORIGINAL STORY: A WOMAN is trapped in a car with serious injuries and a man is in a critical condition after a crash on the Bruxner Highway west of Casino. 

Another three people including a three-year old girl are suffering minor injuries following the multiple vehicle crash, which occurred just before 3pm at Piora.

Six ambulances are at the scene with a medical rescue helicopter en route from the Gold Coast.

An Ambulance NSW spokeswoman said paramedics were called at 2.54pm to the scene. 

"The second vehicle has a male patient in a critical condition and a female patient trapped with serious injuries being assessed and treated," she said.

Passengers in the other vehicle were a three-year old female with a minor head injuries, a 28-year-old male with chest pain, and a 21-year-old male with abdominal pain.
