Trucks in accident near Tabulam

TWO grain carting trucks were involved in an accident on the Bruxner Highway near Tabulam yesterday morning resulting in the temporary closure of the west bound lane.

At about 7.20am two trucks were travelling west on the highway when the rear truck braked heavily causing its back end to swing out and into the path of another truck headed east.

As a result the east bound truck hit the side of the west bound truck throwing the west bound truck back onto the correct side of the road and into left side safety barriers.

Police, NSW Fire and Rescue, State Emergency Service and NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene.

Both vehicles sustained major damage but neither driver was seriously injured.
