THOUSANDS of people lined Lismore's Molesworth Street this morning to cheer on returned veterans in the annual Anzac Parade while hundreds of school children marched to show their support.

Among the students was Air Force cadet Mason Brown, 15, of Lismore who attends Trinity Catholic College and said he was proud to have marched for the second year running to remember his great grandfather Mervyn John Brown who passed away in July 2009.

He wore his granddad's medals, four for various aspects of Second World War service and one for defending cargo planes.
