Rock stars take up the battle against coal seam gas

COAL seam gas drilling obviously doesn't make English-born pop star Leo Sayer feel like dancing.

The musician best known for 1970s and '80s disco hits such as You Make Me Feel Like Dancing has recorded a new song, featuring footage and identities from the Northern Rivers, called No Fracking Way.

The song is a call to arms against the coal seam gas industry and features people such as the Knitting Nannas Against Gas, the Northern Rivers' own super hero team - the Girls Against Gas, and Nimbin-based protester Benny Zable. It also uses footage from protests around the region.

The song, which was recorded in Sydney, is also a who's who of classic Aussie Rock, featuring the likes of Doc Neeson from the Angels, Deni Hines, Kevin Borich, Casey Burgess, Mitch Anderson, Mark Gable, Jeff Duff, Steve Balbi, Jade Hurley, Connor Cleary, Alex Gibson, Graham Wilson and Jarmb-Ji Githabul.

It was written by Leo Sayer, who these days lives in Australia, for Aussies Against Fracking - a group of anti-CSG musicians - as a show of support for the Lock the Gate alliance.
