UPDATE WEDNESDAY: MULLUMBIMBY's Amethyst Kelly, aka Iggy Azalea, has confirmed her engagement with LA Lakers player Swaggy P.

The rapper published a short statement on her Twitter account overnight saying simply "#isaidyes" with two photos, one of the engagement ring and another one of her and her fiancee after the proposal yesterday.

Swaggy P, also known as Nick Young, posted not long after in his own Twitter account: "She said yes. It's over man. I'm getting married!"

No official details have been released yet of the wedding date or any other details.

INITIAL REPORT TUESDAY: MULLUMBIMBY's Iggy Azalea seems to have received the surprise of her life while celebrating her boyfriend's birthday.

Online reports via twitter allege that Los Angeles Lakers guard Swaggy P (also known as Nick Young) proposed to Australian rapper Iggy Azalea,24, at a restaurant.

The information sent the American sports media in a frenzy after a short video posted on twitter showed the basketball player on his knee with a jewellery box on his hand in front of Azalea.

Nicholas Aaron Young, 30, is an American professional basketball player who plays for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association.

Standing at 2.01m, he plays both shooting guard and small forward positions.

The video was posted by Karen Civil, an entrepreneur, digital/marketing curator and philanthropist according to her Twitter profile, who seems to have been at the restaurant where Swaggy and Iggy were celebrating.

There has been no official confirmation via social media from either Young or Azalea about the engagement.

Reports from the US allege that Iggy Azalea and boyfriend Swaggy P may have got engaged.
