A development application for a Lismore CBD sleep analysis centre has been submitted for the site where the much-loved DJ's Aquarium and Pet Shop near Woolworth's was.

The national chain, Snore Australia, provides attended sleep studies in private, air-conditioned bedrooms. The sleep analysis centre can help with snoring and insomnia.

The plans, submitted on September 13 for the 177 Keen site, include six private bedrooms.

It is estimated to cost $166,874 and is pending approval.

Snore Australia is Australia's largest provider of overnight sleep studies. Annually preforming more than 25,000 studies, it has more than 30 locations across Queensland, New South Wales, Tasmania and Victoria.

Lismore CBD: From a retail to health hub

The application comes soon after two other DA's for Lismore which have changed the site's use from traditional retail to a health service.

Work is under way to change the old Noah's Arc book Shop on Magellan Street into the National Disability Insurance Scheme office.

Also on Magellan Street there are plans to change a former homewares and fashion retailer into a holistic dentist.
