POLICE are appealing for information about the whereabouts of a man who went missing from the Queensland town of Ingham who was last seen on the Northern Rivers.

Jason Wright, 23, was last heard from on November 18, at which time it is believed he may have been in the Ballina area.

Since then Queensland police say Mr Wright has failed to make contact with family or friends, which is very out of character.

He is described as being of Asian appearance, 157cm tall, of slim build with long black hair.

Mr Wright, who was last seen carrying a red and black backpack, also has a partial beard.

Police hold grave concerns for his welfare and urge anyone with any information on Mr Wright's whereabouts to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
