Akermanis storms out on Apprentice

SO called maverick Jason Akermanis has let his temper get the best of him once again, this time on Celebrity Apprentice.

Akermanis stormed out of the boardroom tonight after being fired by the show's host Mark Bouris, letting out a string of expletives as he left the building.

"I'm the world's worst loser," he said.

"I did all those things and I deserve people thinking that I'm a poor loser, which I am. I make no apologies for that."

Team Platinum, made up of Akermanis, Ian "Dicko" Dickson and Charlotte Dawson, lost a P&O Cruise challenge against Team Fortune's Vince Sorrenti, Lauryn Eagle, Nathan Jolliffe and Ben Dark.

Both teams were tasked with servicing two rooms and putting on a welcome show for the Pacific Jewel's new guests.

"I didn't think the challenge was fair," Akermanis said

"It was a bit lopsided, four versus three.

"I didn't see the opposition but what I could gather from the crowd our show was a bit better. 

"I know for a fact the producers gave Ann Sherry (P&O Cruises CEO) a whole extra day to come to the conclusion that it was the other team (who won).

"It took a record amount of time to figure out who got sacked."

Last week's carnival challenge, in which Akermanis won more than $150,000 for Vicdeaf, showed a lesser-known side to the AFL legend.

He broke down in tears when it was announced that his team had won the challenge.

"To be able to sign is so important for our family unit with my wife's parents (being deaf)," he said.

"If there's one thing that's come out of it then it's that I am human and not some ogre that the Melbourne media makes me out to be.

"As much as I'm a bad loser and carried on a bit, the greatest thing of all I could have delivered out of the show is that my charity Vicdeaf is going to have some much needed funds."

Celebrity Apprentice airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8.30pm on Nine.
