History against Wallabies in Auckland

RUGBY UNION: The All Blacks will claim a record 18 Test wins in a row if they beat the Wallabies at Eden Park on Saturday but the Aussies will claim an unwanted record of their own with defeat.

Australia has not won an international at the venue for 30 years, so it does not auger well for Michael Cheika's team to avoid a second 3-0 series loss in the same season.

A third Bledisloe Cup defeat, following on from 42-8 and 29-9 beatings, will condemn the Wallabies to a whitewash.

Having already been humiliated on home soil by England earlier in the season 3-0, it will be the first time in more than a hundred years of Test rugby that Australia has suffered two 3-0 series defeats.

The Wallabies know they face a daunting task to try to end their losing streak at Eden Park.

The All Blacks have not lost to any international side in 36 Tests stretching back to 1994.

Another loss will be the worst way to head into a spring tour of Britain, with the prospect of further defeats to add to the pain.

If more losses come on the tour, the Wallabies could end up losing the most number of Tests by an Australian side in a calendar year.

The Wallabies have won only three from nine in 2016 - their worst run since Eddie Jones was sacked in 2005 after leading the team to five wins from 13 Tests.

Cheika does not seem to be facing the same fate as Jones after re-signing until the end of the 2019 World Cup in Japan, but he will not want another defeat on his resume.

The Wallabies coach will name his team tomorrow afternoon before flying to Auckland.
