Highway closed after accident

THE Pacific Highway just north of Woodburn is closed due to an earlier accident where the Westpac Rescue Helicopter had to be called in. One person was trapped in their vehicle.

Traffic is banked up and being diverted southbound along the Bruxner Highway from Ballina and northbound down Coraki Road from Woodburn.

Meanwhile, the Summerland Way at Leeville has reopened after being closed this morning when two Casino meatworks employees were killed in a two-car crash.
