FOUND an injured native animal that needs help? Now there's an app for that too.

Friends of the Koala have announced the launch of a new smartphone app designed to help save the lives of sick, injured or orphaned wildlife around NSW.

The Wildlife Rescue app was set up by the International Fund for Animal Welfare and the NSW Wildlife Council is free from the Apple store or for Android devices on Google play.

For more details on the app, go to the International Fund for Animal Welfare website, where you can read an account of why the app was developed by one of the people who developed it.
