Early bird tickets for writers fest

EARLY bird tickets for the Byron Bay Writers Festival  are available until June 15, when the full program will be released.

Incoming director Jonathan Parsons said he applied for the job last year because the Byron festival has such a unique atmosphere. "It has a very different vibe to other festivals around the country," he said.

Part of this was due to the ticketing system that allowed people to buy day passes covering all the events, and not tickets to individual sessions.

People come to see their favourite writers but because they have the whole day, they are free to ramble and discover new writers and genres he said.
