UPDATE 3.20pm: A disturbing video has emerged showing part of a fight between bouncers from the Beach Hotel and two people outside the hotel on Jonson Street.
The video, posted on Saturday, appears to show the brawl that led to three people being hospitalised after a drunk man tried to do an impromptu strip-tease at the pub on Friday night.
The video shows a group of four bouncers continuing to punch a man after they had knocked him down on the road on Jonson Street outside the Fresh cafe. One bouncer can be seen dropping from a crouched position with his knee landing on the man's head.
Two of the bouncers remain on top of the man, with one kneeling on his head, while they yell abuse at a woman who objects to them continuing to attack the man.
"You can't have three on one," the woman tells the bouncers.
"Shut your mouth and f..k off," one of the bouncers shouts back.
"You can't punch someone when he's down, no matter what he's done in the first place," the woman says.
"Oi! He f..king headbutted me, now f..k off," the bouncer shouts back.
"You f..king serious?" yells the other bouncer. "You stand right here, let's see him headbutt you. Let's see him headbutt you and see what happens. F..k off!"
The woman is approached by other bouncers before being eventually led away by a male companion.
Warning: Video includes swearing and violence and may disturb some viewers.
ORIGINAL REPORT: THREE men were taken to Byron Bay hospital after an altercation with security at the Beach Hotel on Friday night.
Tweed Byron acting inspector Chad Deegenaars said police who attended the scene were told by security a man got up on the stage at the hotel and began to strip off his clothes.
"When security tried to remove the man a scuffle ensued, the man became quite violent and two of the man's friends also became involved," he said.
"Security tried to escort the man out of the hotel and the offender head butted the security guard in the face."
"During the scuffle the three men sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment."
Police obtained the men's details and are reviewing CCTV footage of the incident to determine if charges will be laid.
