THE Channon Public School had an interesting visitor yesterday.

This snake decided the junior classroom was the perfect place to settle down.

Carol Shipard, one of the staff at the school sent The Northern Star this photo.

"The children didn't even bat their eyelids as they walked past him to put their hats away, and he was safely relocated down the back to bushland by a parent," she said.

"The students were terribly amused that he was reading Wombat Stew, but it just goes to show we all love reading at The Channon!"
