Chris Hemsworth meets huge snake: welcome to Northern Rivers

BROKEN Head's latest mega-rich movie star resident, Chris Hemsworth, has made his Instagram debut with a shot of one of his neighbours - an enormous snake.

The Thor and Avengers star bought the exclusive Kooeloah property a little more than a year ago while holidaying with his family at Lennox Head.

One of the selling points of Kooeloah is supposed to be its privacy, so it's not clear how much time Hemsworth has spent at the property since the purchase, reported to have cost a whopping $7m, or how well he's gotten to know the surrrounding wildlife.

Still, he spent all that time playing Kim Hyde on Home and Away and Summer Bay has its share of bushland, so presumably he's acquainted with at least some of the members of the local reptile population.

He certainly doesn't appear frightened of the snake - which appears to be a python - in his Instagram shot, posting with the image: "Hangin' with the locals in my backyard… the real Jurassic Park!"
