Cannabis cash and pistols seized in Coffee Camp raid

A POLICE raid on a Coffee Camp property resulted in officers seizing almost 200 cannabis plants, pistols and more than $12,000 cash.

Lismore police Crime Manager acting Inspector Paul Fredericks said Nimbin police were supported by officers attached to the Richmond Target Action Group when they executed a search warrant on a property at Coffee Camp on Wednesday.

"During the execution of the warrant police seized 194 cannabis plants, 73 of which police will allege were grown by enhanced indoor methods in sheds, a trailer and a shipping container," he said.

"The remaining 123 plants were allegedly located at various locations on the property.

"Officers also seized $12010 in cash, three replica pistols, a pair of brass knuckles, cannabis seed and about two kilograms of cannabis leaf."

Insp Fredericks said a 36-year-old Coffee Camp man was arrested and charged with cultivating a commercial quantity of a prohibited plant, cultivating an indictable quantity of a prohibited plant and dealing with the proceeds of crime.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Lismore Local Court in December.
