FLOOD DAMAGE ON CROWN ROADS Due to Richmond Valley Council having been declared a Natural Disaster area, there is an opportunity for private land-owners who gain access to their property via Crown Roads to claim for Flood Restoration Funding for repairs to the Crown Road back to the pre-flood condition. The land-owner must contact Council and request an inspection and estimate for restoration works required. Council staff will inspect the roads nominated and include them for assessment by the Roads & Maritime Services (RMS) as part of the Richmond Valley Council Flood Restoration funding application. Council does not inspect or claim for Crown Roads under normal conditions as they are not under Council control but if requested by an affected land-owner can assist in processing the claim for repairs. There is a limited time available to report damage and property owners living on roads not regularly maintained by Council should consider advising Council of any repair requirements as early as possible. NOTICE OF PUBLIC EXHIBITION Richmond Valley Draft Development Control Plan 2011 In accordance with Part 3 Division 6 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 (the Act) and Part 3 Division 2 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000, Richmond Valley Council gives public notice of the exhibition of Draft Richmond Valley Development Control Plan 2011. The exhibition of this document will commence on Saturday 28 January 2012 and conclude on Wednesday 29 February 2012. The Draft DCP prescribes development standards and controls for development as applicable to urban and rural land within the Richmond Valley local government area (LGA). It is intended that the Draft DCP will replace various existing DCPs relevant to Casino, Richmond River and Copmanhurst LGAs which have been amalgamated since the year 2000. The Draft Richmond Valley LEP 2011 references a single DCP applying within Richmond Valley Councils area, and it is Councils intention to have both Plans prepared for complementary implementation within the near future. The exhibition documents will be on display at: Councils Casino Administration Building Corner Walker Street and Graham Place, CASINO between 8.15am to 4.00pm Mondays to Fridays* Councils Evans Head Office Woodburn Street, EVANS HEAD between 9.00am to 12 noon and 1.00pm to 4.00pm Mondays to Thursdays* A Strategic Planning staff member will be available at the Evans Head Office on Wednesdays during business hours. (* public holidays excepted). They may also be viewed on Councils website www.richmondvalley.nsw.gov.au. All interested persons are invited to inspect the exhibition documents and make written submissions (email is acceptable) to be received by 4.30 pm Wednesday, 29 February 2012. If an objection to any content of the DCP is made, the grounds of objection must be specified in the submission.
